This will be a fun, experimental workshop where you will learn to create texture and interest in your artwork.

Everyone will be given a canvas board, painting materials and a selection of papers, cards and fibres to 'play' with. We will use acrylic paints as they dry so much quicker and are great for doing loose backgrounds. This workshop is suitable for those with a little or a lot of experience with acrylic painting. There will be very little drawing required, just a sense of adventure and a willingness to get messy! Intended for adults, however, children 12 -16 are welcome if accompanied by an adult.

This workshop will be run by Alison Thomas, an art school trained artist with 25 years+ experience in teaching. It will take place in her studio at Irvine harbourside (the green building next to the Ship Inn).
