Charcoal is a great medium for scaling up your work - yes it's messy but so worth the clean up! It can be used loosely or for very detailed work. It's a great material if you are practising drawing skills as it encourages you to work on a larger scale and learn about contrast in your work. Follow a series of talks and demonstrations by experienced and qualified artist Alison Thomas.

• Only six students in each workshop so a small, friendly group where you can get more t from the teacher.

• The Courtyard Studios are the green building next to the Ship Inn at Irvine harbourside. Studio M / Ayrshire Art Classes is the very furthest away studio in the corner against the back wall. 

• Parking on Harbour Street outside studios or inside courtyard for anyone with a disabled badge.
